Faye Ansis grew up in a family “where everyone knows how to cook and can get very creative from flavors to platings,” she said, adding that this was an ” influence by my mom.”

And as she got older, “I became more conscious with my health so I’ve been preppin’ my own healthy ‘baon‘ to work.”

It was also at this point in time when “I realized that I wanted to inspire and influence people around me into getting healthy – by food!”

And so Faye established Hale Yeah!.

Hale Yeah! currently has two offerings: Classic Hummus (PhP150), and the Mild-spiced Sun Dried Tomatoes Hummus (PhP170). Each tub comes with three pita breads.

“I never thought of getting into any field of business,” Faye said.

But the Covid-19 pandemic sort of pushed her.

“Even before the pandemic started, I was actually starting to conceptualize a healthy food business with the idea that won’t intimidate people in trying my recipes. Then the quarantine happened and that pushed me more to start my business; that this is now the right time to take care of our own health,” she said.

There are still challenges, obviously.

It is still “really hard to get suppliers (nowadays) especially since it’s all online now,” she said.

But a bigger challenge may be to promote the need to change minds that “healthy food are boring’. At least for Hale Yeah!, this just isn’t so.

But with all the support of “my friends and families, yes (this has been profitable).”

“It is a profitable venture if you can strategize every little detail in it – from tapping the right suppliers, to packaging, to getting control of every ingredient I will use.”

And for people who may want to also open their business, what tips can Faye give?

“Go for it! Just always go back to your objective why you are doing it: Is it for you, your family, for the people, etc,” Faye said.

And yes, “create good relationship with your suppliers,” she smiled.
