How Ahra Consuelo Camarse is driven by passion, from nursing to cooking
Meet Ahra Consuelo I. Camarse who opened Munch Time this July, with a startup capital of around PhP8,000 by offering what she used to cook for her family to the world.
Ahra Consuelo I. Camarse opened Munch Time this July, with a startup capital of around PhP8,000 worth of products and PhP6,000 for the social media marketing.
“The COVID-19 pandemic happened, and because of this pandemic, I lost my job,” she recalled. “I couldn’t imagine myself being a plain housewife again, and I told myself I have to think of ways to make myself busy again aside from taking care of my children and doing household chores.”
So since March 2020, right after she lost her job, “I always cooked for my family, from breakfast to dinner. My children kept telling me: ‘Mommy, bakit hindi mo ibenta to sa FB or IG? Maraming masasarapan, madaming bibili niyan, magugustuhan nila ‘yan, ikaw lang meron niyan’.”
They were referring to Ahra’s Chicken Katsu.
And so “I started to finalize my recipe to make a perfect Chicken Katsu; particularly focusing on costing so I don’t sacrifice the quality.”
It helps, of course, that “I love food and cooking makes me happy. And food is everyone’s basic need.” This is also why Ahra said she’s not surprised she ended in the line of business.
She is making this work, as she sees this as a profitable venture.
And so she thinks others can go into business, too.
For people who may want to also open their business, what tips can Ahra give?
“Be confident about your products,” she said. But also, “be patient, be consistent.” And never forget to “pray. Ask, claim and be grateful.”
